Healthy conception does not commence upon pregnancy but way back. An effective preconception plan can ensure that partners are prepared, both physically, emotionally, and mentally, to accept a baby. 1. Schedule a Preconception Health Checkup

In women, the doctor can examine menstrual history, hormones, medical problems, drugs, and past pregnancies. 

In men, a simple checkup and occasionally a semen check-up can determine sperm count, motility, and morphology. 

2. Start Taking Prenatal Vitamins

Women who are trying to get pregnant should start taking prenatal vitamins at least three months before conception.
